Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed in Avon near Dowd Junction due to a crash, according to CoTrip.org. An Eagle County Alert went out at 12:32 p.m. Friday, calling it a multi-vehicle incident.
One lane reopened to traffic about an hour later.
An earlier alert went out stating multiple accidents are being reported across the county and advising people to “drive safely and consider not traveling.”
Vail Mountain reported four inches of snowfall overnight with more accumulating throughout the day. The storm closed Eagle County schools Friday as well.
